I am new to this site I live in Manchester. I lost my husband 8 years ago and retired at Christmas.

I would love to chat to people as I am lonely.

I have a cat, I enjoy walking, nature and the cinema. Thanks for reading this. Edith

Hello. I live alone and must admit am feeling lonely right now. I love walking and this has kept me sane throughout these strange times. I have done all those jobs around the house I kept meaning to get round to and have finished all the painting. It’s getting harder to fill the time now. I live in an apartment with no outside space so get out as much as I can. Being able to go out more than once a day has helped. Hopefully this will not go on for much longer though it will feel strange to be able to go out for something to eat or the cinema. At least you have the cat to talk to. Haha.

Hello northroad,

Welcome to our Silversurfer Forum ... we have just launched Local Community- a new area on the website that can associate your postal district with other members in the same geo location as you, if you wish to. This means that our members can offer each other support and assistance and connect with new friends in their area. Local Community will also enable you to find local events (in the future!), resources and news from fellow members and local businesses. We are inviting you to be one of the first members to use this section, so feel free to post a new topic to reach out to members in your local area of Manchester.

Here is the link to the new Local Community section - https://www.silversurfers.com/silversurfers-local/
