Christmas & New Year 2018 Mature Singles looking for UK Hotel Breaks

Having been told by both daughters "You ought to get out more Daddio ". I've not been entirely sure if that was heartfelt advice for a widower, or a blast from the past dig of mine, coming back to haunt me.


Being in mortal danger of a fast approaching "sell by date" a grandson tinkered with my WIN95 ! computer, bringing it to a contemporary state of play. Up pops 'Social Media', something that wasn't hitherto part of my vocabulary, together with a plethora of enticing messages. All from 30/40 yo damsels, some with dubious gender orientation, in exotic locations betwixt the Philippines and Russia! >> Despite my photo clearly indicating 70 yo Male.


There abounds a notion that silly old men actually seek something akin to vestal virgins, the validity of which "shivers me timbers", attaching far more importance to mature conversation and leisurely pursuits. So having bared the soul and finding myself in the 'here and now', with both "Silver and Surfer" significantly more relevant.

Dear DoyenD, I rarely look at the discussion threads on this site but had nothing better to do this evening. Your post made me smile! It’s too late now for 2018 but Christmas/New Year 2019 will be here before we can blink. There are a number of on-line holiday companies that organise Christmas/New Year breaks. I’ve never been on one but I believe most participants are of a certain age and many travelling on their own. Another suggestion would be a cruise, single travellers are well looked after. You could of course join an over 50s dating site (less likelihood of meeting 30-year olds from exotic places). I did so and met a nice man almost immediately. We separated by mutual consent after a year but it I don’t regret the experience. Your post is quite old so perhaps your daughters have sorted you out by now!
