Complaining about a Doctor

Has anyone had cause for complaint, or at least reporting a matter, about treatment by a doctor? Did they follow their instinct and stand their ground or did they 'chicken out' and let it go, while seething inside?

It can be difficult to pursue complaints against GP's but Hospitals and Local Health Boards should have accessible policies and procedures which allow you to make complaints.

Hello November, very many years ago I felt compelled to write a letter of complaint about a doctor who was giving me an epidural when I was in labour with my daughter. He had no bedside manner and was very incompetent at his job, and made me feel very vulnerable and uncomfortable. I had to write the letter to get it off my chest, and as you can see, 19 years later I still recall the incident vividly and I remember his name too! Never too late to complain or report something that has made you unhappy ... it will help you and also others in the future as well.
