Face masks

Have been using a face mask for some time but now see that face masks will be compulsory in shops. I see a lot of people my age wearing them but youngsters dont or won’t.

What do you lovely people think?

It's a nuisance but if there is even a slight chance it will help I will do it voluntary and wish all others would do the same until more is known about this particular virus. There are still too many unknowns at this point.

Hi Wildone, as Moleman has said very conflicting views as to mask or not to mask..that is the question! if it makes you feel safe or reflects that you are taking these conditions seriously then I would say yes,if we are 'protecting' others by wearing these, then they in turn are protecting view is that is it is no big deal..only wish in the winter flu season, especially on public transport that masking up if you have a bad cold, and using hand gel may help people you don't know getting ill...

Hi Wildone,
I worked in the construction industry (Plumber) for a long time. Occasionally, we were supplied with dust masks. At the end of the day, when we removed them, we all had dirty marks where the dirty air traveled in and out. Our noses were still full of whatever dust was present. The only masks that truly work, are the rubber, close fitting ones with replaceable filters.
Now, we're being told, that the masks are NOT to prevent us inhaling anything, but to stop us projecting airborne droplets containing virus.
Personally, I'm now having doubts about the whole thing.
There are so many conflicting details out there. There are supposed to be thousands of folk suffering with something, but no one knows anyone!
Stay alert, if nothing else!
Take care
