Greetings from a newbie
Watch this postHi there everyone! I registered on here earlier, and am popping by to send warm greetings from East Anglia, UK.
I was hugely relieved when I finally reached official retirement age exactly two weeks ago! Phew! Finally free to do my own thing! I see myself as a young 65, am used to spending time alone - my choice - so this social isolation stuff we have in place doesn't bother me at all, thankfully. I was born and brought up in South Africa, my wonderful husband died suddenly and unexpectedly in 1990, and I eventually moved alone to the UK 17 years ago.
I have no children, but did bring my 3 wonderful cats with me when I moved. I have a bunch of different qualifications, and have had a rather topsy turvy career, often not out of choice.
Thankfully the past is behind me now, and I need to look forward to making the very best out of future years that I am given. My 94 year old mom lives in a care home in South Africa, I have a sister in South Africa, and a brother in China. Thank goodness for technology hey I look forward to connecting with folk on this forum, and to sharing more later.
