Introduction from Newbie wanting to connect

I am a 58 year-old woman living in the London area – and looking to connect with people, with a view to developing friendships to share chats, hobbies or shared experiences with. The pandemic, despite causing severe limitations on how we live our lives, has brought some unexpected opportunities for me workwise, and I found my online events production skills kept me employed and paid!

Re Ageism: I do, of course, sometimes come across a common problem for many who use this site – ageism – a resistance to comprehend my ability to use technology, except to google “how to claim my pension”. Ffs – nobody thinks Bill Gates is a techno idiot. Most of my work at the moment is centred around online training workshops – and I really like it. My main client is an international leadership training company whose EMEA arm is run out of Brussels although the clients are from all over the world so I am sometimes up very early – for Singapore – or late for the US.

Luckily for me, almost all the training takes place in English. Menopause hit – just before the pandemic. Double whammy for trying to keep in shape. The problem with not having to get dressed properly for work – is that you don’t notice that you are putting on the pounds! I did develop a new interest in late 2020 that I continue to be fascinated by and is helping me get into shape – and that is Virtual Reality – specifically Oculus.

Would be fascinated to meet other oldies like to who enjoy VR.
