Moving house

Hi all, I'm suddenly finding myself feeling vulnerable over a new house move.

My husband and I decided to move out of London to live by the sea. I will still travel to London 3 days a week to work. After being at home for 18 months due to losing his job because of the pandemic my husband suddenly got offered a job abroad and had to go quickly.

I am now moving this Friday and feel very overwhelmed and suddenly feel nervous about being in the house alone, I used to be very confident and am also wondering if I can even do the journey to work.

Feeling like I don't want to move anymore.

That is difficult for you for all the reasons you have stated.
My Husband dearly wanted our move to France and I agreed. The last few weeks before we went were terrible for me but I just soldered on for his sake.
When we arrived it was so busy doing all that is necessary that it took away a lot of the worries.
It still took it's toll for a while, but all turned out for the best after a few months.
So your concerns are worse for being on your own. Depends on how positive you can be and how much packing and organising you have to manage. There are even companies that will help you pack depending on your finances of course.
We spent a lot of time travelling to the local refuse tip and the local charity shops thinning out things that were not really needed..That helped with the packing for sure.
It takes some push when your under par and as for your job I would say think for now about the move more than the work load. You will be in a better place once you have settled in the new home, hopefully.
No Chrystal Ball and no if Only's....Maybe a friend or a family member could help you also.

Thank you so much for your reply. It is just nice to be able to reach out and get other input on the situation. I am glad that you are all settled in now and enjoying your time.

I know I have to just take each day as it comes, but I guess it is hard as I thought it would be a new home for both of us and I know it will be one day but having to do it on my own has taken the excitement away.

Sure would with anybody feel flat at such a big task..When your use to doing things together it is very difficult.
I rely on him and he relies on me and so thinking you have to cope alone must be a huge thought.
Thing with us humans, we do pull something positive out of most struggles. Something funny might happen that give you a good memory or the worst can happen..I spilt a whole tin of emulsion once....that is one big memory I'd rather not have.
Take a step back and see if your organised on the clearing and packing, and if you have a garden, decide if there are other things you need to take ..
