New to Silversurfers

Hello everyone.

I’m new to this site, so just thought I would drop in and say hello before I have a browse of the website.

I’m a 1956 baby (with an endlessly moving pension date – it’s gone from 60 to 65 and now 66). Beginning to wonder if I will ever get it. Anyway, currently living in France where we’ve been since 2004 and no, I still don’t speak the language very well. Still practicing though.

Hobbies are genealogy, mine and I enjoy doing some searching for friends too. Knitting, crochet, just taught myself Tunisian crochet, cross stitch, blackwork and “point and click” photography. Sometimes they come out quite well, sometimes not.

Family consists of husband and two cats with my mum and brother back in England.

Off to do a bit of browsing now.

Speak to you soon.

Love

Jan

Hi Jan
I was wondering if you had any tips for someone contemplating the scary, crazy, exciting prospect of moving to southern France? I am giving up teaching in 18 months and although I love the Lake District, I am getting worn down by the rain and cold and dark.
Any areas in southern France to focus on? Where do all the brave and crazy Brits go?? I like Ariege and Caracassonne but don't know the west at all.
Look forward to hearing all your advice. I'm single and my children are both grown up so I lurch from 'I can't possibly! It's too big a step!' to 'Do it now! You've only one life!'
Look forward to hearing from you
