Pension shortfall or no pension?
Watch this postHello, as a new member to this group I am interested in chatting to people who either have a pension shortfall, or no pension at all.
What are your experiences?
Are you struggling to make ends meet or do you want more so you can enjoy life?
With interest rates at an all time low our savings are not making us anything, sometimes we need to do something different to get the result we want.
I may be able to help. Do leave your thoughts and maybe we can have a chat.

I am surrounded by elderly neighbours in the same boat, but at least most of them are of pensionable age and have all the benefits that go with that status. I am told that I fall into a "grey area" (forgive the pun) ... ie. I am not yet 60 (though close), a few years off pension, no disabilities and no dependents, so there is little or no help available.
I manage to just keep my head above water, but at the moment having sleepless nights about my electric bill, which is overdue, and am constantly cold because I can't afford to feed the gas meter card for heating. Roll on summer!
I believe there are many people like me out there, living in fear of the future and not knowing where to turn. Also, a measure of pride in being forced to turn to anyone at all. It is mortifying to have to write pleading letters to creditors. One has to live like a hermit because being sociable might result in having to spend money you do not have!
Sorry to be so depressing, but I thought it would be good to join this forum and let of a little of the anxiety, and perhaps find others to commiserate with. Throughout all my travails, the internet has been my lifeline, and I would starve rather than give up my broadband connection! That is, as long as my poor aging laptop will keep going!
Would love to hear from anyone in their late 50s who is in a similar position. 🙂
