Queen Victoria

We are watching Victoria on ITV at the moment and would like to read about her life. I don't want the book to be all facts and heavy going... any recommendations?

Many thanks for your recommendation Annaliceolive! I will look on a couple of on line book stores I use and see if it is available at a good price. To be honest I could also see if my library can get hold of it for me. I am glad you enjoyed Victoria as much as I did - I cant wait for the second series. I was surprised of how little I knew about a very important time in our history - industrial revolution etc but also am fascinated by Victoria and Albert and their nine children!

No I can not recommend any books, but, beware, the Victorian era was a dangerous and oblique place, not a place for any modest viewer to go into.

I have read about the Victorian period and visited some of the places and know just a little, but the TV programme is just in the main fiction.

I would be delighted to help you but be beware of Victorian prostitution
