It seems to me this latest round of alleged sexual exploitation, and it is only alleged at the moment, is just the latest flowering of some weeds in society who just want a utopia shaped in their own image.

Under no circumstances would I condone sexual exploitation of men or women, it is against my personal morality and any residual humanity I have left. Yet, it must be said, this is not news. Sexual exploitation is endemic in all strata of western society and has been since Adam was a lad. That doesn't make it right, no. But it is a fact of life.

On Radio 4 this morning a senior aid worker now in aid management who has worked for several international aid agencies said that abuse of vulnerable people needing aid was systemic right across the aid spectrum. She also said significant numbers of people joined aid agencies so as to target vulnerable people. There is no sure way of vetting them out as they habitually stayed beneath the radar.

The shock horror campaign, as whipped up by the metoo (can't find hash tag) is a sham. Is there anyone left out there who doesn't understand showbiz and Hollywood in particular exist on sexual exploitation? Similarly, where is a safe space in our society? Why would Oxfam be a safe space, or Save The Children, for example? Surely, they're the perfect target for abusers.

I do not accept abuse of any nature is necessary in society but, in a culture where anything goes, where we write our own personal rules of engagement, what else may we expect? Sexual harmony?

I don't think so.

I think the latest OXFAM revelation should be seen within context. and also note that allegations that underage girls may have been involved in sexual exploitation are, as yet, unproven. I believe it would be wrong to assume all charity workers helping in developing countries and in disaster areas are sexual predators. The few who have been found to abuse their position of trust, in what ever way, should be held to account for their actions but we should not tar everyone with the same brush.

Sexual exploitation of women is wrong and I would not condone such action, but I'm not sure a person using the services of a sex worker should be labelled as a perverted sexual deviant. I also believe the money we give to OXFAM and other charities is not then given purely to perverted sexual deviants,
