Relocating to America

My son has a business in lower Knoxville and the surrounding area. He wants me to relocate from the UK. I’m 60, how do I meet friends in a new country? After 30years of marriage I’m not looking to date, just to make friends. Thank you for your advice.

AJDallas … You would be wise not to relocate to Knoxville, Tennessee. It’s a different world from anywhere you might live in the UK. Have you spent anytime in the USA? Very different mindset than anywhere else on this earth, especially in Tennessee. If it was NYC, I might suggest you give it a go, but Knoxville, Tennessee, don’t even entertain the thought. You’re lucky to last a week! Trillium

Hi thanks for your comments, much appreciated. However, my son married an American girl he met at uni in the UK. Family is everything don’t you agree? They miss me and I miss them. But appreciate your advice.
