Just let me know how you want to communicate.
I find it's easier to keep up with the conversation as it's only between the people in the room. I'd be happy to set up a chat for the two of us or can add you to the room I've set up with Eloquent if you prefer? Comment and let me know. I'm F, 58 living in South Yorkshire, England.
Hopefully you will get an invite.
I've added Eloquent1 also but she's either not found it or been online to see my message.
kind regards
I can write, chat, whatever, whenever, no probs. I’m guessing there is at least an 8 hour time difference between us. But im sure well manage to get a fe words in.
Have a great day,
Bill

I am up for a chat most anytime.
that you take pot luck, some people reply others don’t, maybe it could be
an age difference or being the wrong gender, I am a man aged 74, so a
lot older than you, but that does not mean that I am unable to hold a
decent conversation with someone, in fact my age and experience could
be a help, So if you would like to chat, I am here, all best wishes, Terry.
I agree with you. Experience and wisdom comes with age therefore in my opinion age is just a number. Please let me know when you would like to chat.
Southampton always willing to chat, I see from your comment that
you are contacting a few people, a good idea, as some will reply
and others won’t, it looks as if a little group of us have come together
at the same time, so hope you and I get further messages.
No snow here at the moment, a bit of frost this morning, but still
on the chilly side. I have to go into town today, as need a few things,
but I won’t be hanging around for long, It was very busy on Saturday
lots of people around the Christmas German style market, an off to
my sisters in Basingstoke for Christmas, I will be dog sitting as she
and her husband will be going to his elderly mother in Wales, still
they have Sky TV, so not all bad news. Well better not waffle on too
much or you will get bored before we have got started, so stay safe
and warm, all best wishes, Terry.
I live in Arizona. I chose the area because of the weather. I get the rare dusting of snow every couple of years. It seems as though your holiday plans are already in place. Do you wish for a White Christmas? You stay safe and warm as well. Chat with you soon.
states, there seems to be quite a few of you on this site,
Anyway am very pleased to hear from you, and as I said before, I am
always up for a chat, I have time on my hands, so always reply to any
messages that I receive.
Am not looking forward to a white Christmas, did when I was a child
but never have liked the cold weather, This time of the year or around
January or February I like to go of to Southern or Eastern Africa for a
bit of sunshine, went to Cape Town in October, as had a few hospital
appointments coming up, so went early this year.
Have only been to America once before, that was in 1966 when I was
17 years old and in the Army, we went to do some training with the US
Army in a place called Fort Carson, in Colorado Springs, had a great time
and we were made very welcome,
We have a Christmas get together this evening, so didn’t have to cook, I
live on my own in a one bedroom flat ( sorry, apartment) on the South
Coast of England, we don’t get much snow due to the salty sea air.
Well enough of my waffle, I never know when to stop, so enjoy the rest of
your day/night, all best wishes, Terry x
I agree with you about a White Christmas. I have never liked cold weather either. I grew up in the Midwest. I enjoyed watching the commercials advertising the palm trees of Florida so at 19 I planned and executed my escape from the cold weather. I joined the military chose Florida and never looked back.
How did your Christmas get together go?
sadly it’s a bit too late for me.
Our little get together went well, had some food and music, sadly I
didn’t win a prize in the raffle draw.
Been another chilly day here, but it was nice and sunny, and no sign
of snow just yet.
We have something in common as we both joined the military, I am the
oldest of 8 children, and left to join the Army, really just to get out of a
crowded house, never regretted the decision, saw a bit of the world
and made some good friends along the way.
I still love to travel, and hope that I am able to get away for a while in
the New Year, somewhere warm I hope.
Well it 10.30pm here, so will soon be getting ready for my bed, so will
finish off for now, but hope to catch up with you again soon, take care
and stay safe, Terry x
I am trying to drum up some enthusiasm to leave the building .and do a bit of shopping
Watch this space ,,,in case I ever find it again !!!!!!
I am glad to hear you had a good time at your Christmas get together. Maybe you will a raffle prize at your next party.
It has been cool here also. There has been frost the last couple of mornings but it warms up fairly quickly therefore I can not complain.
What warm destination are you expecting to get away to in the New Year?
Take care and keep warm
I can definitely understand where you are coming from on keeping our brain’s occupied. I hope you are able to get out and get some shopping done since there are only nine days left before Christmas.
You can bookmark this place to find it again. There should be an arrow to your right. Click the first icon.
Take care
are keeping well, still cold here but nice and sunny.
Not sure where I will go for a holiday next year if at all, but at the moment
Turkey is on the agenda
Have you any plans for travel yourself next year? I expect that with the
USA being so big, there are plenty of places that you could go for a trip.
This time next week I will be at my sisters am dog sitting for a few days
while she and brother in law are away. Have you got plans for Christmas
and the New Year.?
Well hope that you enjoy the rest of your day, stay in touch, as always
nice to hear from you, take care yourself, and like me, stay warm, Terry x
orchestra . I did not go out ,well, just ,to check how safe the drive was,, still too many crunchy
bits dodgy for a rear wheeled drive car , ,the bookmarks thing does work ,most of the time ,,like today The problem with this site ,there are so many avenues to wander down ,,
Just had a peek out . Exactly like yesterday FREEZING .
I 'm probably the only woman who dislikes shopping unless it's absolutely necessary ,as yesterday was ,I won't starve ,a pantry full of tins ,a freezer ,almost full of interesting items. that I am slowly eating my way through
As Christmas gets nearer so does a dental appointment ,,What is it about dentist's that brings
out the Wuss factor ,,,???? Coffee ????
Of course . , .
Turkey sounds like fun to visit. Have you ever visited Turkey? I do not have any plans to travel next year.
My son will visit for awhile both days since he lives a short distance away. My daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren ages 4 years old and 6 months live in Virginia so I will have to settle for talking to them by phone both days. My four year loves to sing so I will enjoy her Christmas Carols and hopefully hear some cooing from the six month old.
Take Care
I am sorry to hear it is not safe to leave your home however at least you have plenty of food. I also do not enjoy shopping especially in store. Do you venture out for gifts or buy them online?
I agree about the dentist. I do not believe anyone enjoys an appointment.
Take Care
to have a lovely family Christmas, so I hope you have great joy listening
to your Granddaughter singing her carols.
This time next week it will all be over for another 9 months.
It is raining here today, better than snow, and at least it has brought the
temperature up a bit so not so cold as yesterday.
I have only been to Turkey to change planes in Istanbul airport, but have
seen adverts for going there and it looks a very interesting place to
visit, so fingers crossed I will stay in good health and see for myself.
I see that you are chatting with others on this site, and I am pleased
that you are getting news from both angles, that’s what this site is
supposed to be for.
Have a quiet day today, as did most of my shopping yesterday, so no need
to go out in the rain, will give the flat a bit of a once over, that will keep
me busy.
Am catching the train to my sisters on Friday, as there is a train strike on
Saturday, we seem to be having a lot of strikes with workers wanting
more money to help with rising costs, but they affect everyone, so not a
good situation at the moment.
Well hope that you have a good day, and if I don’t hear from you before
Christmas, I hope you and your family have a wonderful time.
Best wishes from a damp UK, stay safe, Terry x
I’m glad to hear it has warmed up a bit for you. Rain is always better than snow unless you want to go skiing 🙂 The weather forecast here was in the 50’s and sunny. The forecast for Christmas should be in the 60’s.
That is a bummer to have a strike on Christmas Eve but I suppose the timing was taken into consideration to get the maximum impact and necessary attention it deserves.
I know the next coming days will be busy therefore if I do not hear from you before Christmas, Have a Merry Christmas!
Take care and keep dry.
gladly swap with you for the next couple of months, as it’s likely to get
colder in the New Year.
You are right about the strikes here, planned to cause maximum impact
on the general public, but it’s something we will have to get used to, as
a lot more are planned for next year, everyone wants more money to
help with the cost of living.
Thank you for your Christmas greetings, but you can’t get rid of me that
easily haha as I will be taking my iPad with me to sisters.
Have to brave the weather this morning, as I need some bread and a
few other bits and pieces so will wrap up warm.
I bet your Granddaughter in Virginia will be happy to hear your voice on
Christmas Day, she is probably getting excited to see what Santa has
brought her, I love to see the childrens faces when they open their
presents. I used to babysit my sisters 3 girls when they were young, now
they all have children of their own, how quickly the years have passed.
Well better. get ready to face the tempest,or I will never go, so enjoy the
rest of your day, stay safe, and keep in touch, Terry x
Although it is windy I’m glad to hear you are still only dealing with rain vs. snow. Hopefully you will have everything you need upon arrival at your sister’s house.
I do miss the days when my children were young and seeing the delight on their faces as they opened their presents. My granddaughter is very excited and counting down the days. I created a Chatroom to communicate in. If you are interested, it is labeled Greetings Across the pond.
Take Care
I'm fairly new to Silversurfers. Always happy to have a chat. I've only just discovered how to have private chats with individual or groups of people. I kind of like the chat feature because I know what I write is only being read by the people I'm chatting with.
I am also new. Let me know when you are up for chatting and I will try and figure out how to use the feature.
I've added you to the room.
