Suggestions for uncreasing blackout curtains - without melting the rubberised backing!

I bought Dunelm's "Nova" blackout curtains recently (polyester, with rubberised backing). On removing from the packaging, they were badly creased (worse than simply folds in the material).

Instructions say "cool iron on face" (ooo ouch!) which I tried, but the creases remained. Contacted Dunelm for advice - all they said was "creases should fall out after the curtains have been up for a couple of weeks". Eh, no they haven't! I tried using a moderately hot iron with brown paper on top of the curtain, but that didn't work either.

Dunelm say to take the curtains back for an exchange - but I'm not convinced the replacement pair won't be any less creased.

Has anyone here hit upon a foolproof method of removing creases from such curtains without melting the rubberised backing, please?

Not foolproof, but worth a try - hang them on your shower curtain rail/cublcle glass for a few days.
