Any other Artists out there?

My most compelling pastime, I love to paint in acrylics, anything that 'Lights my fire' basically.... It is one of my most loved things to do and when I paint I am engrossed, I forget food, drink sleep, until it's finished and compelled to finish it in one session.

I would have liked to have time to work on some art, I do respect people who can paint , but I do appreciate all the arts

Found! I've answered my own question. Have crossed that bridge in Ludlow many times.

Did you recognise it Keith?

Yes. As said I have often crossed it.

I too love painting in acrylics in the form of decorative art painting and will paint on all sorts of things such as trays, nic macs, candles, linen bags, napkin holders and so on. It's such a lovely hobby which I didn't find until I was retired.

Hi Brunhilde.....I dabble in oils. It's been a hobby for about 15 years, self taught and not particularly good but like you I really get engrossed. Since retiring I now attend a class once a week so rather than complete a work quickly I tend to pace myself....and of course unlike acrylics oils take ages to dry!

Hi GeorgesMum, I'm self taught and love to keep trying new things I formerly found hard. Yes Oils take forever to dry and I'm too impatient to be waiting. It all has to happen very quickly for me or I lose interest. (Tha artistic temperament. Lol) I do think oils are a much better medium though, the finish is amazing. Have you any work to show on here love to see some and although you say your not very good . Art is in the eye of the beholder, you never know what people like or get excited about. I am putting mine on here and hoping for feedback. Keep in touch and upload som pics. x

Hi Brunhilde I've downloaded , or is it uploaded, a couple of my efforts for the world to see. I tend to do landscapes so not as exciting as your beautiful little girl!
My art teacher is trying to convince me to try watercolours and as I have all the equipment needed I think I may just have a go and see how I get on......watch this space....I'm sure I can paint a magnificent muddy puddle!

I hadn't realised that there's a mechanism for uploading photos, other than one's profile photo. Where do they appear?
