Enjoy having a go at card making. Been doing it couple of years now. Struggle for inspiration though.

Hi there

Just responding to your message albeit 10 months later. Don't often go onto silversurfers site, I obviously need to though. Still doing my cards now and then but usually just for family. Still struggling with ideas though, I must be very boring as I seem to have no imagination.
Response from Jenninora made on 30th Jun 2017 12:52:48
You do have imagination Nanagme. The images are there, you will be able to grasp them. We all have moments of lack.

I love to have something in the Craft line at hand. It maybe sewing, crochet or knit.
At the moment I have finished off some bits I had laid aside.
Will have to think of what I will do.
Response from jeanmark made on 30th Jun 2017 19:14:08
Hi Nonage, have you tried downloading/installing Pinterest? There are so many inspirational crafts on there you will be crafting non stop and realise you do have good imagination.

I enjoy cardmaking and have recently taken up sewing again after many years, it passes the time, my granddaughter and great niece loved the bubble quilts I made for them.

Hi, yes I only make cards to send at
Christmas now, as I have not been too well, crafting now is at a stop. I will probably take it up again at a later stage.
I still like to do my painting just to keep my hand in!

Crafting. I have always something at hand. May it be a winter woolly or something with material and thread.

At the moment I am working on silk. I have to hand stitch as the delicate material will catch and snag.
I am working out a six foot skein of sari silk and the end project will be a table runner.
Beautiful to work with and there has to be more imagination and working out the measurements for some embroidery motives.
The colour and the finish of this piece will not take transfers easily.
Head, eyes and a steady hand.
It is a good feeling if one gets an idea and the right thoughts come through to press forward and you see the project taking shape.

Crafting does fill moments for anyone. There is many ideas that anyone can have and it only takes the want to take it up.

Just got started with Needle Felting. Am enjoying it very much, on my second project now. I get equipment from Linclonshire Felt Crafts, they are so helpful.
Response from bobbiebooth made on 17th Aug 2016 23:04:31
Hello there,I'm a lady of 69 and live in Dorset. I'm interested in crafts and wonder what needle felting is? Although I have done jewellery making, I now find I want to find another craft to take up. I wold also be interested in joining forces to go to any exhibitions or workshops.
Response from jeanmark made on 18th Aug 2016 15:03:02
The WI's Denham College run courses on needle felting although they can be a little pricey.

Hi there,
I live in Dorset and interested in jewellery making. I'm not that good but enjoy it as a hobby and want to start cross stitch, I find crafts very interesting, and enjoy gooing to any exhibitions that may be on, but am not especially good at them myself! Looking for a like minded companion to go to occassional exhibitions and perhaps on residential or day courses in th south of england.

For some time I have wanted take up sewing. A friend of my wife said she has a machine sat at home gathering dust, would I like to practice on it. She lent me the machine, but it had no power lead, at the time she was packing up to move. I got a lead myself, so she said I could use the machine for as long as it takes, but she never found the power lead, also the presser feet are missing, only one on the machine is for doing zips. I have the dilemma, do I buy the feet at around £12 each, the machine originally comes with 8, or just buy a new sewing machine?

I'm very new to Silversurfers and it looks a really friendly site - hope so anyway. I'm an avid card maker and been making them for a few years now both to sell and for friends and family. I would love to hear from others and be able to swap ideas etc. I've just sold a Cuttlebug die cutting machine as I've got two larger ones and the lady who bought it and I have struck up a really nice friendship.

My gran taught me to knit when I was about 7..... so I've been clicking those needles for 50 odd years. I'm currently knitting dog coats to raise funds for a dog rescue I'm involved with. I'm so pleased that this hobby has recently been taken up by the younger generation because I felt it was in danger of dying out!

I love crafts, I use to knit tea cosies to sell. Had a moment of fame when one of my cosies ended up on Gogglebox. The vicar on there always had a different cosy.
Now I like to cross stitch, crochet and knit for pleasure.

I have lots of craft hobbies I jump from one to the next so I am not doing the same thing every day .
I like making jewellery, cross stitching, crocheting and dressmaking, my favourite is jewellery especially with wire, is there anyone else like this?
Response from Starburst made on 14th May 2016 15:19:48
Hiya, yes I love making jewellery but not with wire wrapping. Mostly hand beaded necklaces, bracelets, earrings. I have so many beads I could open a shop, but always find that I still need more. I used to do cross stitching but not my favourite pastime. Love knitting and crocheting when I have the time.
Response from BeadyJean made on 18th Jun 2016 19:42:55
Hi..... yes!! I also make jewellery but like Starburst I don't do a lot with wire, but much prefer bead-weaving techniques and bead applique. From 2003 till 2009 I used to sell my work on the artisan markets where I live in France, and also kits and everything else needed for the craft, but after the global financial downturn, I stopped markets and turned to teaching bead-work and other crafts, too. So, you can imagine that I still have a good stash to work through!! I additionally paint porcelain, crochet, knit, plastic canvas, felt applique, Fimo and many others. I'm new here - have you posted pictures of what you do?
Response from haz2bme made on 19th Jun 2016 09:28:40
Hi I still hop from one craft to the next as I get bored if I do the same thing all the time , although I have a special feel for wire weaving and chaine maille, cant do the latter for too long starting to get some cramp then. I cannot sit with nothing doing with my hands, I have always been like that , nutty Yorkshire woman that's me, although I don't live there , havnt for years.
I used to bead weaving but I always seem to want to try something new, I like doing Kumihimo with beads, its so relaxing.

I havnt posted picture for ages and that normally on the jewellery maker face book site.
I have never sold any of them I prefer it to be a hobby so I can drop it when I wish

New to the forum. I love making bits and bobs for dolls houses in 1/12th scale. I have had this hobby for 30 years, before this I did egg decorating for 15 years and before that painting and embroidery. I also love photography but NOT knitting. Would love to learn to do tatting, had a shuttle for at least 12 years and it's still in my tool box. (76 years young)
Response from BeadyJean made on 18th Jun 2016 19:35:09
Hi Hazel - I have wanted to learn to tat all of my life and have tried the shuttle kind several times without success. However, a month or so ago I joined a craft group near where I live in France, and a lady was tatting, but with a needle. She showed me that basics, so I purchased some of the special needles you need, and learnt the rest from Youtube videos. It's much easier than the shuttle and although there might be a few things that can't be done in one or the other, there are very few. I particularly enjoyed making a whole collection of Summer earrings. Try it!! You'll get hooked!!

Have been doing some items connected with my dog breed The Rottweiler, hand painting t-shirts, tote bags, etc. also transferring my own images on various items. Also would like to do decoupage on wooden bracelets, etc. but haven't yet plucked up the courage.
