Hi from Scotland

Hello. I’m Mike. Just joined out of curiosity really. I’m 69 (for just a few more weeks) All the boring stuff about me is in my profile. I’ll be happy to just chat. Not looking for partner or anything. Or any arguments. I moved from London to Central Scotland 6 months ago. My hobbies include bird watching, Plane spotting, Photography & video & computers.

Hi all and welcome Jane!
Isnt it great the variety of areas we have in the UK!
Mike: I remember Dr Finlay's Casebook and always thought the area looked beautiful. I have had some lovely holidays driving through Scotland with my late husband. It must be fantastic to have a mountain view. I am in the driest part of the UK and had no snow again for the second winter - my grandson (7) is so disappointed - he particularly wanted to use his toboggan and show his little sister (2) what snow is like. It is VERY flat around here but there is a very large lump of abandoned earth on the common behind our house which we pretend is a hill. However, there is a fantastic hill in Ely was where I took my kids to slide when they were young. Ely has a fantastic cathedral rising above the fens and the view from the Stuntney side is worth a very long trip in my opinion, whether you are religious or not.

Hello Jane. 🙂
Nice to (virtually) meet you. I used to visit your neck of the woods quite frequently, when my late mother and stepfather lived in Verwood. Which I know is in Dorset, but nearby. My children, when they were young, loved their holidays down there.

Hello Lynne. I too was having problems with the site and eventually decided to just give up. But this morning, I thought i'd have another go. And all. seems to be working smoothly now.
I did once contemplate East Anglia. But fate and rather tragic family circumstances brought Scotland into play. A place that had always been a lifelong ambition to at least visit. But never in my wildest dreams, did I ever imagine that I would actually live up here. I now live in Callander which is right on the edge of The Trossachs. The western end of the town is dominated by Ben Ledi. A beautiful snow covered mountain. Callander was also where the 1960s TV programme 'Dr. Finlays Casebook' was filmed. And the house they used for the doctors residence, is still named 'Arden House' to this day.

Hi I'm Lynne. I have joined for folk to chat with, but it is my first go at social media and am finding it a bit difficult to find my way around. It took me 10 minutes just to find my way back to this forum! This is shocking to me as I have never before thought that I am a twit! I have used computers in many work related ways since the 1980s and never before lacked confidence that I would master any task!
Interesting that you moved from London to Scotland Mike! I hope that you are enjoying it. I was born in London but moved to East Anglia in 1975. Currently living in the Brecks, which is very flat and very sandy and dry; but I find it quite beautiful. We have lots of birds visiting our garden here - far more than I had when I lived in north Essex.
