Isis - what are your views?

Isis last night you killed indiscriminately, no thought for who it was or the impact on families or those who lost loved ones. You do not care. You think that by doing this you will put fear into people's lives. You have probably done that. You make us afraid to travel to go to concerts to basically do the things we enjoy. Isis you want to dominate the world with your sick ideology. You want to make women second class citizens with no rights and children killers. You see western civilisation as decadent. Yet most of you come from Europe. You grew up here made friends here. You received education and medical care. You turned your back on this. If you Isis wish to live under your sharia law then that's fine but don't impose your will on us. You will never win. You unite us in one way nothing else could. The horror or blood spilt and loved ones killed bring us the determination that Isis will be brought down. Your own people want to leave once see that the fairytale you told is not true. You will not stop us leading our lives. It's for us to live as we wish not as you wish. So we will love, laugh, be happy all the things you would take away. Who told you to kill your God, I think not.

We can talk about it until we are blue in the face but ISIS is trying to create a climate where the muslim community will be at war with the West. So albeit theirs if a distorted view of the muslim faith they will continue to recruit young muslim people who feel disadvantaged and share the dream of muslims taking over the world. It's fine to say atrocities like these bring us closer together but as it continues people will be living in fear and will be careful of where they travel and be suspicious of their neighbours. The cities are the hub of the community and it's the major cities they try to shut down. The recent events in Brussels shows that our intelligence is not perfect. In the past these terrorists have travelled to the UK and were not detected. I think the time has come to wipe their base out in Syria and target their leaders. They are reported to be planning to move into Libya. We need to be ahead of that. When ISIS is discredited and shown to be failing only then will terrorism in the name of the muslim faith come to an end. On the back of that we need to ensure that our young people are not feeling so disadvantaged that they are vulnerable to fascisits. The recent atrocities in Istanbul did not get the same media coverage as Brussels. Why was that?

After the latest atrocity we light candles, lay flowers and join hands, which must seem strange to the people who have just killed and maimed dozens of innocents.
What is needed is a robust and ruthless response, not vigils and not the lighting up of landmarks.
The time for 'dialogue' multi faith meetings and visits to mosques is over, we have seen that it accomplishes nothing, apart from making us look foolish and weak.
The bottom line is, 'we either deal with them, or they will deal with us' and if, through cowardice, we choose the latter our grandchildren will be left with the consequences.

You really CAN'T deal with all Muslims as if they belong to ISIS! That's like treating everyone from Eire as if they were Provisional IRA gunmen

We should be asking ourselves WHY these young men who have lived here all their lives feel so angry that they turn against our society. The real reasons might mean that we actually had to change things about ourselves.

You don't say what you had in mind to 'deal with them' or who exactly you mean by 'them'. It's worth remembering that most vicious regimes (Nazi, Communist etc) who attack their own citizens for spurious crimes, fall in the end. Do you want that to happen to us?

I know of no credible faith or belief that says murder and terror is the right thing to do. I no longer practice any religion, but have respect for everyone's beliefs and faith - as long as it is not harmful or disrespectful of others.
Since we studied the Crusades at school, learned Bible stories of the Nativity and Easter, when 'enemies' of other faiths were persecuted, then when I visited the Wailing Wall, Garden of Gethsemane, and the Holy Sepulchre, Greek Orthodox Church ..... I saw beauty - but sadness too
I have spent great holidays in both North and Southern Ireland; learned of famine, cruelty, and historical and ongoing political/religious division - but never met an Irish person who didn't make me feel welcome

Nonetheless, I have sadly realised that faith/religion is often used as an excuse for cruelty and hatred...and that is what it is-an excuse! So sad that something which should/could bring rich learning and good living, as well as comfort and friendship is abused - and, I say despondently, has forever been so.

I have no truck with these murderers and madmen/women who believe they have the right to destroy lives, and I know of no decent club, church, organisation, that would write into their 'rules' that this is how they will operate......and that it is acceptable!!!!!

A much loved Muslin shop owner was killed in Glasgow - by a fellow Muslim; possibly because he wished his customers well for Easter. Why should that be a problem? I worked with a beautiful Muslim woman (a career girl with handsome sons and amazing parents), and we shared chocolates and treats she supplied when her time of fasting was over...and she loved when Lent was over and others would bring in Hot X Buns or chocolate 🙂 This was about living together and celebrating our friendship and respect

I send strength to those affected, bereaved, or damaged by these evil actions and RIP to those who have been taken - We cannot let those full of poison and with such toxic mind-sets win x
