I am in my 60's which is the new 40's so life is sweet....as they say life begins at 40....I am a widow for 9 yrs and although i love to travel and meet people you still feel very lonely at times. and I would love to make new friends for chat maybe travel and a good old natter... I love the winter sun and tend to go away each yr for a few months to Spain. I just adore the sea yet my home is in the midlands but the plus side is that it gets plenty of rain so no shortage of water.... I have a lovely little dog called lily who is so timid and quiet she would be the ideal door stop cause once she gets comfy there is no budging her. lou lou is my daughters dog who is also a part of my doggy harem... all ladies in this house lol..both girls were rescued and luckily lou lou loves a walk. When i am away my social activities include dancing which I love.. I was part of a line dancing troop called the renegades all lovely ladies of a mature age strutting their stuff..lol and a great way to meet up over coffee for a long chat and cake.. (mostly wine and tapas) give me a bag of tayto crisps anyday...so come on girls and guys get typing I would love to hear from you and make new friends...

Hi Irish Eyes I am new to the site too! Your dancing sounds wonderful! I love dogs too. I have a german shepherd cross staffie. I live on the south coast near Brighton and we have just come back from a beautiful low tide warm sun walk along the beach! I understand you missing living by the seaside but Spain must be a great escape to warmer climes for you.

Do you do any other type of dance?

I tried belly dancing but my co ordination was soo poor that I felt as if my body was two separate parts!! Salsa for me was not much better! But always willing to try. I have always fancied those events (cant remember the name now... crowd something or other?!) where out of no where a group of people start dancing!

I wish you a lovely day today.

I love all your comments and love how we are all up to different things. The world can be a bit problematic at times, but its the little things that help us through the rough patches. I have just started painting in water colour and inks--Mmm, perhaps "painting" is a big claim at the moment, but I know what its supposed to be even if others dont seem to see my efforts in the same way, lol. Enjoy the sun where ever you are.

Wow Irish eyes it sounds as if you live life to the full and certainly have the stamina of a 40 year old!
I was born and spent my first 60 years in the Midlands but have now retired to the Welsh Borders where I keep busy volunteering for a couple of local animal charities. I have two "left feet" and no rhythm whatsoever so I' m afraid the only thing a dancing troupe would want me for would be to make the tea!........ However, like you I am a doggie person and am currently owned by a rescue Yorkie who is now a grand old age of 16.
Hope you enjoy chatting to lots of new friends on the site!
