Am so looking for a cruise companion to avoid the single suppliment, and for some company.
Am a non smoker. A little older but fairly fit and active. I am a widow.... Lost my husband last year.
Like you, have a moderate budget....... Although do have a preference for a particular cruise line.
Please drop me a line if you are interested.
Jo.
Are you still looking for a cruise companion as my mum needs one too, she is 75 years old and still fit enough to enjoy herself. She lives in the U.K.
I am writing to address your concerns about the single supplement on cruise ships. I found a great solo travel option through Norwegian Cruise Lines. In June 2017, I took a cruise to Bermuda as a
solo, and booked a solo suite with NO PENALTY. And, this cruise line has a structured
program for solo cruisers. Once I was aboard ship, I quickly realized how many others were also
cruising solo. We had access to an exclusive lounge, with a solo travel cruise director at our service.
He'd pair us up to the various restaurants and entertainment venues as we wanted...and yet, if you
wanted to be by yourself (for instance, when went ashore to shop, I wanted "me" time), there was
no pressure to pair or group with other solos. It was wonderful. I liked it so much that I have booked
another cruise for December of 2018, leaving from New York, for a Bahamas and Florida cruise aboard the same cruise ship. Norwegian Cruise lines has a great website (NCL.com). It explains
everything. On my cruise a lady traveled all the way from Poland to New York to catch the
cruise ship. She was also a solo traveler. We ended up enjoying several activities together as
part of the solo cruiser itinerary, and we also met up at Bermuda's famed Horseshoe Bay and enjoyed a day of "beach bumming"..! It was a wonderful experience. So, I offer this as a suggestion for traveling solo aboard a cruise ship. You can do it without a single supplement penalty and, if you go with Norwegian Cruise Lines, I believe 7 of their ships have the solo studio cabins which are lovely, very comfortable. And you are housed in the same corridor with all the other solo travelers..but you still have access to the entire ship.
Hope this helps...and, if you decide you may like to go to the Bahamas and Florida in Dec. of 2018,
book with Norwegian Cruise Lines ship "Breakaway" departing out of New York Dec. 1st. returning on the 8th. I'm booked for those dates, and barring unforeseen emergencies (heaven forbid!), I plan to be aboard!
