I joined last year but now feel I shouldn’t just lurk I should say something!
I’m 61, a retired nurse and single. Looking to chat to others that find some days are just a bit lonely.
I’m in Norfolk and this afternoon the spring sun is beautiful, the right kind of weather to look optimistically into the year ahead.
70 here in Tunis, single and retired. love to chat.
Drop a line if interested.
Anyway I’ve found it now so how is your day going? It’s so very cold here in the UK so I’m just knitting and watching a TV drama.
It’s nice and sunny here in Tunis, feels like spring.
It’s a chilly and drizzly 8 degrees C (47 F) I looked it up on the local weather app!
It feels cold enough for the heating to be on so I’m glad it’s spring and warm where you are.
Yes I think you are right, they are trying to keep us on our toes with the navigation of this site.
Anyway so far we are winning.
So how are you spending your day? I’m now watching a tv baking competition, yes it’s an all round dull day here. Haha. I need you to tell me you are planning an afternoon abseil or something…. I will settle for living vicariously right now.
Ok let guess the Best Patisier? No! I think that’s French.
I live in rather touristic small town, so I like my walks on the beach. Have you been to Tunis before?
And No not looking for 90 day wedding..lol
I keep busy, I travel a lot around this little country, want to see it all.
With my tablet I kill a few hours a day, Reddit takes most of it.
How about you?
No I haven’t ever visited Tunis as such but I think I holidayed in Tunisia possibly 50 years ago.
A beach walk today sounds wonderful. Does the tourist season drive you crazy? Well do the tourists drive you crazy I should say.
Have you always lived in Tunis?
I too keep busy, nothing exciting I just enjoy my home, knitting socks, visiting local towns and people watching! I think retirement is all about doing what you enjoy and not having to do so at speed.
Tourist from all the world I love. We get quite a few here, from your neck of the woods.
I lived a few years in usa, but I missed the family, so I am spending a few years here.
You only knit socks?
Were you married? Kids.? In anything too personal you are free to not answer, just my curiosity.
I have two boys in usa, 40 and 32.
Divorced 9 years now. And yes I am taking it easy now, sometimes I miss the speed and action.
I have been married, divorced 18 years now. I have a 30 year old daughter.
Yes our messages are public, but curiosity is fine. Messages about the weather would be very unenlightening. People are interesting.
I like the way you write, you sure weren’t a teacher?
18 years, wow,, guess you didn’t meet Mr right yet?
No I definitely was not a teacher, nursing and midwifery was plenty for me. What line of work were you in?
Do you get my messages right away, or there is a lag. Here your message doesn’t show until I log out and log back in again.
“ “Doctor: I have good news and bad news."
"Patient: 'OK, first, what's the good news?'
Doctor: 'You have 24 hours to live.'
Patient: 'Oh god, just 24 hours to live, that is good news? I can't imagine what the bad news is going to be.'
Doctor: 'I forgot to phone you yesterday.”
Great joke, I actually did laugh out loud.
Restaurants… great to visit but hard work otherwise I would think.
Have you attempted to chat on the other threads/topics in the forum? Just wondered how busy the site was generally.
I've just joined so introducing myself - I've recently moved to Devon, England. Gorgeous place to live but finding it hard to meet singles to make new friends. Everyone seems to be married!
I'm a retired teacher. I've travelled extensively, lived in USA, Norway, Maldives, but have a quieter life now in Devon.
Just recovering from a relationship break-up so back to singledom again 🙁
Would love to chat to anyone.
It looks like I joined in June of this year, but this is my first note. Like a newbie, I don't really know what I'm doing yet.
I'm a transplant to Michigan. Idaho was my home until I married. I've been single for 10 years and date occasionally. I have three girls and seven grandchildren. All are in three different states.
What I'd really like and need at this time of my life is a pen pal or two. How other people live, work, and play is interesting and I'd like to hear about it.
I go to the gym, ride bikes in the summer, care for a hospice dog, travel a little and spend as much time with family as I can.
Hope to hear from some of you... Merry Christmas!!
Took his body over. His mind is strong. I miss him at home with me. I've raised our 3 grandchildren from ages 2,4,5 I still have custody but they are older not home much. Now 16,18,20. I feel I did a good job taking care of them. Good morals, polite, independent, smart smart kids. I'm very proud of them. Their dad was a hitter belts spoons whatever he had. He was on meth. Mom our daughter was on meth also. I don't know what I hate more M.S., meth, or child abuse. You don't hit babies make one watch until his turn. I tried to reconnect with our daughter but it's hard. She took us for granted. She is sober 2 years but she isn't the same. I can't stand the dad. Obvious reasons, by his choice at a beach in Los Angeles he created an issue that caused my husband to become disabled so youg. Dr's feel the trauma caused the M.S. to wake up so to speak. Well that's all for now. I have many tales that most people find hard to believe, and have said so. I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried.
I am 58 new york city blogger, poet and songwriter and hope to make friends, particularly in Manhattan where I currently reside. I have never married and have no kids, but am really great with kids and pets. I also recently started a heritage ancestry research journey discovering interesting things, such as Persian Jewish heritage. Have a great New Year.
Hope you have a lovely Christmas season!
