Watch this postI have been pen palling for a while now does anyone else do this and is there somewhere on the site for this? It would be nice to write to people on here if they were interested.

Welcome to Silversurfers - lots of friendly people on here although the site seems a bit quiet at the moment. Whereabouts in Oz do you live? It would be lovely to see some photos of your country on the Showcase. I love Scotland - I've got Scottish grandparents on both sides of the family who came from the Dumfries & Galloway area and also from the island of Barra. Recently returned from a super holiday staying at Inversnaid on Loch Lomond. I've put quite a few photos on the site which you might like to look at. I also love listening to the pipes and drums and a rendition of Highland Cathedral (which, incidentally was written by two Germans in the 1980s so not a traditional Scottish air) is guaranteed to bring tears to my eyes!
Have been to Sydney - for my 60th birthday and loved it.

I live on the south coast of Cornwall near Gorren Haven. Moved here with my job over 30 years ago from Surrey. Often go back to London and Surrey but would'nt want to move back. I also spent some time living in the Redruth/camborne area when I first moved down here.
What part of Cornwall are thinking about moving to?

Welcome to Silversurfers - lots of topics in the Forum for you to comment on. I also was made redundant in 2015 and have to admit that I cried all the way home! Now, I wonder how I found time to go to work 🙂 I joined my local U3A and have found new friends and interests. As you mentioned, Silverblue, it's great being able to do what you want, when you want. This last week I've been over to the East coast, to Scarborough, for a great day out, Ilkley to meet a friend for coffee and then Burton Agnes Hall to see their Snowdrop Spectacular - fabulous walk through the woodland and thousands of snowdrops! Happy Days! 🙂
Anyone interested in corresponding by email with 80 +year old female? I'm married, with offspring, and am interested in reading, writing, History, computing, and possibly, in learning Spanish or Italian.
I already speak English, and Welsh, and studied Latin on line for five years! More fun than it sounds. :O)

Not sure how to reply by email to you or if this message is posted for all to read. I am a bit confused! I have just joined Silver Surfers when I saw your post, thought you might be interested in corresponding as I studied Latin for A level and loved it. I think it should be taught in every school! I am 69 year old gent with my wife Elisabeth and two grown up boys. I won't write any more until I see how this site works.
