Round The Horne

Listening to Round The Horne being played on Angel Radio. Brings back happy memories of Sundays listening to the light programme while mum was cooking a delicious Sunday roast. Happy days.

I loved Round the Horne on Sunday lunchtimes (along with The Navy Lark, The Clitheroe Kid, etc.) My favourite characters were Charles and Fiona (the over-the-top romantic actors), and of course Rambling Syd Rumpo's folk songs!

I remember Dick Barton every weekday I think at 5:30. Up till then the street where I lived would be packed with kids playing. Then woosh every body vanished it was DB time, not a kid insight!!

Yes, I dimly remember it too. Julian and Sandy - totally non-PC these days of course!

I also remember listening to Family Favourites while the Sunday roast was cooking.
