So Whose in a Band?
Watch this postAs someone now in his 6th decade I continue to refuse to grow old gracefully. Having played guitar in rock n' roll band's since being a teenager, my enthusiasm and passion show no sign of diminishing with my band 'the VinylZoo' currently recording their debut album 'Welcome to the Age'. The other three band members are all 55+ and share my eagerness to get our original (not covers) music heard. The Covid pandemic has obviously stymied our progress at this time nevertheless we continue to write and collaborate albeit remotely and hope that when normality returns, we may actually have better material to record. I hope my post generates some interest as I'd love to know who is playing, singing, producing and as long as you believe you are relevant and still have something to say, then age is merely a number, bit like 4/4......

I’m also in a band, mostly ladies, we play fabulous 60s covers to a senior audience on an unusual line up of instruments. It started as a hobby but we’ve been performing for 5 years together. We are all semi retired, mostly aged between 60 and 80.
We can no longer carry the heavy equipment so we have a roadie, but apart from that our band diary is full and we’re having a wonderful time !
We play for great causes such as National Older Peoples Day, Armed Forces Veterans, Lions, Cancer charities, Masons etc
I was wondering is there a Silversurfers band/musicians community? It would be good to connect
