Travel companion for long travels abroad.

Hi I am new to this site. I have been travelling for many years, lately having lost my wife it has become lonely and expensive as a solo traveller. I go away for few months at a time, making the most of the opportunities available to explore the world. I tend to go away for the winter months and would be looking for like minded individual, non smoker, happy and easy going person to share accommodation and transport costs with. Or I am happy to join anyone going to warm places in winter months on the same basis. I am 63 years old male of Indian origin. I spend at least two months in India. Each year I choose two states to travel for a month in each state. This year I hope to go there from mid November 2019 to mid January 2020. Travel within India is by all modes of transport, public and/or private. Accommodation varies from 5 star to basic depending on the availability, but can be based on the means of my companion.

Usually I end up spending anything from £2500 to £3000 per trip as a single occupancy basis excluding return flights to India. So with a companion sharing it can be approximately half that. Also looking to go away for a week to Croatia, on 12th Feb 2020 on a bus tour, costs Approximately £325 including flights, transport and accommodation on two sharing basis. If anyone is interested I will be happy to meet up with and explore feasibility.

Happy travelling. [email protected]

Hello there, Saw your post that you would like to visit Croatia.
We are few friends from USA (born in India, Indian origin) travelling to Croatia in first two weeks of May 2020. The car accommodates 8 people we are 3 may be 4 people. This is private tour organized by us with detailed itinerary of each sites for first two weeks of May that covers 90% of Croatia's most important sites that covers national parks, museums, beach, historical sites, UNESCO World heritage sites, Game of Thrones sites etc. Itinerary is ready and looking to find like minded people to join so total cost can be divided. The tour cost approx. $3200 per person for double occupancy and $3600 per person single occupancy. The cost includes 3*/4* hotels with breakfasts, all sightseeing with car/driver/licensed guide/entrance fees. It does not cover tips, lunch, dinners and your personal expense. You need to buy your own international ticket. We will be travelling from East Coast USA. Flight is approximately about $700/800. Arriving airport on May 1st is DBV and departing airport on May 16th ZAG. Let me know if you have interest. The purpose of putting this post here is simply to travel with like minded people to share the cost and travel at ease and not worry about transportation since we will have personal car/driver/guide at our disposal and of course make new friends.

Maybe not something you would be interested in but nothing ventured...
I am in Cape Town South Africa and I am planning a big Safari next year.
I have a fully kitted vehicle and will be traveling with 3 other vehicles.
I would like to have a travel companion to join me. The entire trip will take 6 months, which might well be too much, so I can break it down into sections.
It is a camping Safari with occasional breaks at lodges. Traveling through Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi and possibly Tanzania.
Last year I was joined by an Australian and sharing costs it came to just less than £ 200 per day. Obviously wouldn’t include flights, or expensive lodge nights and eat out meals.
There is one section that will include Namibia and Botswana from Windhoek on the 16th May 2020 till 17th July at the Victoria falls in Zimbabwe.

What do you think.
