When did you last see a hedgehog?

As March is the time that hedgehogs come out of hibernation I wondered if anyone has seen one yet? We used to regularly see them in our garden but haven't seen one for quite a few years now.


We live in a rural area, our garden is 'untidy' and not fenced all the way round so I don't really understand why we don't have see them any longer.


Does anyone have any thoughts?

Last spring when we had 2 baby ones in our garden. We put them gently in a box and put them safely in a hedgerow so they could be free into the local fields and away from roads.

That's amazing Wilf and very thoughtful to give them the best chance, safe away from the road. I hope you see some more this year. It would be good to hear if you do.
