Activity Trackers

I want something that makes me get up and move about. I've been looking at these activity trackers but they track too many activities for what I need. Does anyone use one of these and how do you find it? I want something to remind me to move, track my sleep pattern, count my walking steps and monitor my heart health. I don't need swimming, running, cycling, jogging or gym activities.

Hi. I've got a tracker on my apple watch. Very straight forward and you can track just about anything as well as set reminders to move every hour or breathe deeply for a minute at various intervals.

I'm using a Fitbit Blaze and it is definitely encouraging me to be more active. I do the solo challenges but I hope Fitbit bring out some new ones. I am also involved in a couple of friends groups and we do the weekly and weekend challenges. The challenges push you to do more steps. I have heard that the numbers of steps does not equate to being fit and healthy but as far as I'm concerned 10000 steps a day is better than none.. on average I am now up to about 14000 a day. Maybe we should set up a Silversurfer Fitbit challenge group

I have a fitbit charge 2. It does exactly what you asked for. I try and do 10,000 steps a day and have reminder to move every hour, mine is set from 9am to 6pm for moving but you can change it.

It also checks heart rate, sleep pattern and you can add food intake which is helpful if you want to loose/gain weight. You get extra calories for exercise completed.

hello... I'm not a huge exercise fan (never running around or swimming or anything), but I use an app called My Kin.

It's got no frills - just tells you how much you've been active and sleeping, but one thing I really like about it a lot is that it tells you how long you've stayed out of the house, which is probably more important to me than the steps!

I tried the Samsung Health tracker but it was really too complicated with way more things than I wanted... but I do still think waterfall's right - the best way to keep fit, whether tracking or not, is dancing!

I have a tracker on my Samsung phone. It counts the steps and tracks other activities if you want to. You can also use it for logging your weight and the foods you eat. The downside is you have to carry the phone with you at all times to log every step. On the plus side you get alerts if you haven't done enough activity against your target which encourages you to go out for a walk. I do most of my exercise in the home on an exercise bike for an hour a day whilst watching TVs, the wifi fit step for an hour in the morning and 20 minutes sit ups with a wonder core machine (the best exercise equipment I have ever purchased). I also shop everyday rather than weekly which means I have to go out for a walk everyday. The nearest shops are 15 minutes walk away. I have a Fitbit on my Christmas list. Trackers are only useful if you are exercising daily

I use a Fitbit and this tracks everything you are requiring. There is an app you can link to your phone and you can track as much or as little as you choose to 🙂 It is a great reminder throughout the day that I need to get moving!

I also use a Fitbit but only to monitor how far I walk, it does help you walk further and the feedback via the app is encouraging. Unfortunately my husband keeps referring to it as my Fatbit!
