Best Place for a Long Stay Winter Holiday

Can anyone give me any recommendations for somewhere to go for some winter sun in Europe. Cheap and cheerful and for 3 weeks minimum.

Goa is good ... find some apartment or flat from a local family, will be very cheap, great beaches, cheap food, cheap booze, try and find the cafes locals eat in ... I used to stay in Candolim, frequented a great cafe about a Km from the beach called Viva Goa, Infantaria on the Baga road in Calangute for great bread and cakes and breakfast, Sheetals at the end of the beach road in candolim for rich north india food (excellent), I always kept away from posher restaurants, the food comes from packets and tins and is expensive .... but you might like somewhere with a more modern infrastructure ... check out tripadviser, loads of info from real travellers there

Thanks. Sorry I haven't been back on forum since I asked this but some good tips here. I had been wondering about Goa!

Malta is one perfect place to enjoy some winter sun, and what's more if you self cater and perhaps share an apartment with two other couples can cost you less than €1,000 per couple per month for accomodation. Does this not make sense? How much does it cost all of you to heat up your places for the winter, and sometimes the weather is so bad you cannot even venture out. Malta is only a 3 hour flight away but makes all the diffrence to your health and ability to move throughout winter. So why not find another two couples to join you and enjoy winter instead of dreading it!!! We have a three bedroomed apartment in Qawra, ideal for you. Visit us at https://goo.gl/vDtKCc

Although I don't go myself then I have friends who go to Malta every winter for 3 weeks. It's still warm in the winter. I have had 2 summer holidays there so know the people there are friendly, mostly speak English and the food is good. It's also cheaper then Spain. If you look at Jet2, Thompsons, Mercury holidays and First choice (I'm sure others as well) have buy 2 weeks all inclusive and get a 3rd week B&B free. It's not expensive to eat out there either. It is so easy to get around as well. The busses are 2Euros in any direction or you can get a weekly bus pass. I hope this has given you a least one idea to look at. Happy travels.

Tenerife is warm all year round most budget airlines operate all of the year.
