bad last few days, thanks for the group message, hope that your vision
of an African Safari is going well, of course you could always come on
a real one, so start saving, ( will be leaving late September ) I promise no
snakes but plenty of Lions HaHa.
Been a funny day weather wise here in Southampton, it started grey and
overcast, but now the sun is out, so May brave the cold and go for a walk
along the river bank.

So glad that you watched Serengeti 111 it was beautifully shot, and it
gave the animals a sense of individuality with their names. I expect that
you can now see why I love Africa so much, the beauty of the place is
mesmerising and draws you back time and again.
A lovely start to the day down here, the sun is shining, but the wind is a
bit on the cold side, was cold last night, and I could not get my feet warm,
they were like blocks of ice.
Have to go and do a bit of shopping in town, will go to Asda as they are a
bit cheaper than Sainsburys, and have to watch the pennies if I am to go
on the trip at the end of September.
I hope that you had a good week end, and that this new week will see you
in better spirits.

useful helping me on and off the truck, but I think that you could let
her know that I can get on and off myself HaHa, still it was a nice
thought from her, she sounds like a girl after my own heart, I like
frogs though. When she reaches 18 years old, she can go on an
overland trip herself, I’m sure she would love it.
Had a busy day today, went shopping in Asda for a few things that
I needed, noticed how much things have gone up just lately, will
have to watch the pennies to save for my trip in September.
It has been a cold day here, but the sun was out most of the day,
First day of March tomorrow, so officially spring is here, let’s hope
that the snow that is forecast stays away.

Yes things are getting more expensive in the shops, I tend to get a lot
of casual clothes, like T shirts in the charity shops, take them to Africa
and give them away before I fly back home, the local kids love them.
Sorry to disappoint your granddaughter, but have never seen wild
herds of horses in Africa on my trips, but of course there are big herds
of Zebra ( the closest I can think of ) but they are not for riding
Another overcast day here today, but don’t have to go out if I don’t
need to, we have a coffee morning in our lounge on a Wednesday
morning, so will have a chat to a few people with a cup of tea and
a biscuit.
I’m sure I once say a Haggis hiding in a bush in the Serengeti, I think
that they are an endangered species HaHa. Anyway I’m sure you will
have a lovely time in Scotland with your family around you.

I don’t think you can blame me for that Ha Ha as there are no Tigers
in Africa, if I ever get to India then I might tell you about the time I
saw a Tiger in the jungle.
Anyway as you say, you managed to get some jobs done that you
had been putting off, and it enabled you to pick up a book again.
I enjoy a good book, and was telling our mutual friend Jackie, that
my favourite author was Wilbur Smith who died last year aged 85.
He wrote lots of novels, mostly set in or around Africa as I think he
was born in Rhodesia ( now Zimbabwe ) 2 of his books were made
into films, Gold was one and the other was Shout at the Devil, and
he sold millions of best sellers in his lifetime.
Let’s hope that your granddaughter is right about the meaning of
your dreams, this Google chap seems to know quite a lot of things.
Been quite a nice day here today, did a bit of shopping for a
couple who have both just come out of hospital, and are not too
steady on their feet at the moment.
It’s my birthday tomorrow, 75 ( going on 25 ) and as a present for
myself have confirmed with Absolute Africa that I will once again
travel on the big yellow truck starting on the 30th September, we
will travel through Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya for 23 days, so I
have something to look forward too.
Well better finish off for now as have to phone my sister before 2 pm
as she has a hospital appointment at 3pm, so cheerio for now, have
a good day, and a better nights dreamless sleep tonight, take care
