Second Marriage

Hi

My partner and I are getting married in July, second marriages for both of us. I’m having real problems getting something suitable to wear!

I don’t want a big frilly frock but i would like something that marks me out as the bride and not a guest. We’re having a register office wedding with mainly close family attending. Its going to be very informal as we haven’t planned a reception or party afterwards. The plan is to go to a local pub and anyone who wants to join us can.

Our original plan was to get married next year in Hawaii but after the sudden death of one of my partners brothers we have decided not to wait, hence the closeness of the date! This would have meant a nice long summer maxi dress and there seems to be oodles of those to chose from. Now that we have changed our plans I’m really struggling.

I wouldn’t mind a white dress if it was age appropriate (i’m 53)…..

Open to ideas/suggestions..thanks x

Hi, Try chesca a fabulous company that have something different. I get married at the end of this month, my first marriage and my H2B his second. I didn't want a run of the mill wedding dress as I am far too old ( 61 ) and didn't want to look stupid. I found this shop by accident in Chichester and loved it, thre ae Franchises all around the Country which you can find on their website. www.chescadirect.co.uk Happy Hunting. 🙂

I have never really understood why two people would want to shack up together long term, although I did tie the knot myself many moons age. My experiences as half of a couple reinforced my long held belief that humans are not, and never were, intended to stay together for longer that a few months.
I believe that you can now get married on-line, so there is no need for dressing up,you don't have to spend lots of dosh, or watch your granny become inebriated at the reception, or see the groom and best man knocking 7 bells out of each other after a few sherbets.
Anyway, and whatever you wear, have a good day.

Hi again Cathy.

Managed to get my dress at Phase Eight but I need a dress to wear at my daughters wedding in August so I'll have a look at the site you have mentioned.
Thanks x:-D:-D
