First posting

Good evening! This is my first post to introduce myself. I am a bit nervous but here goes. I am 60 years young, still working and like a good laugh.

I like to sing and to dance although not good at either, but I love to try. I adore reading and love a good romantic novel.

I am hoping to make friends on this site

Hi Happychops! I am 56 so similar age and still working too. What a drag! I enjoy my job but wish I had more time to be at home doing the things I like to do.
I belong to a local singing group but it's only a small, local village type thing and often I feel more like curling up in front of the telly with my cross stitch than venturing out after a long day at work! I used to go to Ceroc Dancing and really enjoyed it but then as the years went by I got bored with it and got fed up with waiting to be asked to dance!
I like romantic novels as long as they aren't too slushy. I've just read 'Keeper of Lost Things' which is a lovely book, I defy you to not enjoy it! That's my idea of a romantic novel.

I have to second your thoughts about "The Keeper of Lost Things". My U3A Book Group read it last year and the report, which I wrote for our website is below:
Our group met on Monday evening to discuss “The Keeper of Lost Things” which is the first novel written by Ruth Hogan. We had an interesting debate with many diverse opinions. Comments ranged from “the worst book I have ever read” and “boring” to “wonderful”, “clever plot, loved it” and “just as appealing second time round”. Most of us loved the Down’s Syndrome young woman, Sunshine, who was very much in tune with everyone’s feelings, spoken or unspoken, and who had an often quirky way of expressing herself; she always described herself as being “dancing drome”. The verdict of the majority was that this was a super first novel which left us feeling good!
Scores out of 10 ranged between 2 and 10 with an average score of 7.
I would certainly recommend the book - I was one of the people who gave it 10/10 🙂
