Do you think Camilla should be crowned queen?

As the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary today, has Camilla won us all over with her style, substance and support?

Ten years ago 7% of the British public thought Camilla should be queen. In a similar poll 10 years later 50% of those polled said they now think Camilla should be queen when Prince Charles comes to the throne.

The past decade has seen perceptions of the former Camilla Parker Bowles transformed to a valued member of the royal “firm” whom half the nation would accept as queen.

It would appear that Prince Charles would like her to be crowned with him by his side and also that Prince William and Prince Harry have accepted her role.

What are your views? Has Camilla won over your heart?

I totally agree, he should have abdicated in favour of his mistress.

I personally couldn't think of anything I care less about, I will be doing something far more interesting than watching the coronation like painting the shed.

I don't want camilla to be queen I have never taken to her and what she and charles did to his marriage to Diana was unforgivable I personally think that the crown should skip a generation and be passed on to william who really wants an adulterer and his tart on the throne not me for sure
Response from sophie0910 made on 2nd May 2023 19:12:10
my thoughts excactly
Response from Boss1 made on 3rd May 2023 02:46:48
I totally agree IreneH10....I think William should be King.
Charles should have never been allowed to marry Camilla. In history Royals were not allowed to marry divorcees they had to abdicate the throne.
If anyone believes that Charles and Camilla were not carrying on behind Diana's back you are sadly mistaken.
I felt so sorry for Diana she was an amazing woman who did a lot for people and society.
William would be a better choice to be King.

No I do not believe Camilla should be crowned Queen. When Queen Elizabeth 11 was crowned Queen Prince Phillip was not crowned King and still remained a Prince.

When Queen Elizabeth II died she wrote a letter to Charles to nominate Charles as King and said that Camilla should be known as Queen Consort only..

Do not crown Camilla Queen.

Several conversations I've had recently, with people across our nation, lead me to believe that the monarchy died with the Queen.

Opinions generally were, that the Queen manifested genuine royal character in her sense of duty, faithfulness and grace.

Nobody that I spoke to would have imputed these noble traits to Charles and Camilla.

We shall have to wait and see, but I wouldn't be surprised if the forthcoming coronation would be the first indication of a monarchy in the first throes of death.

They met when they were very young and should have married then. It is high time the two of them should be crowned together.. Everyone needs someone they can trust by their side.

neither are fit to be crowned no morals and a King and Queen should be someone you look up to so it certainly isn't either of them

As everyone knows Camilla was the third party in the Marriage of Charles and Diana and probably instrumental in the collapse of the marriage. She should not be addressed as nor referred to as "Queen Camilla". She is at best only "Queen Consort" and most certainly should not be 'crowned'.
When Queen Victoria was reigning her husband Albert was was Prince Consort not King Consort so why should Camilla be elevated to Queen?

'm not a royalist, and I certainly don't think Charles should be king, alas there it is..I dont envisage him as a good impartial King..He is trying to get involved in politics..It's not his place. As for Camilla being Queen. Yes. She has a firm grip on her Royal role and appears to keep steering her husband in the right direction..he needs someone for guidance.
She also has a good reputation for being open and down to earth.

No, she should not be crowned Queen. People have very short memories. Remember Princess Di and the way she was treated by this pair, they are a disgrace.

No, I don't. Not only is she a Divorcee, she had an affair with the now King while he was married to Dianna. So wrong! A sad day for the Crown. Also, when Edward wanted to marry Wallace, he had to abdicate. How the times have changed, anything goes now.

Is it possible to compare 1936 with 2o23.
Response from CaroleAH made on 19th Apr 2023 16:52:26 > @jeanmark
No. Jeanmark, we cannot possibly start to compare the changes that have occurred in the last 90 odd years. Most things are much better for everyone these days, especially women. I am really disheartened by some of the vitriolic comments on this particular subject in the Forum and the wise words "let those without sin throw the first stone" spring to mind. If Charles had been allowed to marry Camilla, as he wished to do, then things would be much different.
Response from jeanmark made on 19th Apr 2023 19:11:43 > @CaroleAH
I share your sentiments and I fail to understand why many appear to believe they have intimate knowledge of the Royals lives.

I think "Chilla" was reluctantly endorsed by the Queen as someone who could exercise a restraining influence on her son, who, with respect, is not the brightest candle in the chandelier.

As an Australian, i know little about her, her former marital status or what type of person she may be.

All said, I think the monarchy will be obsolete within 50 years. The Queen was a lovely lady who held it all together during the most trying of circumstances, My parents died long ago, and I can't help that part of their values died with their generation - I think the Queen may have been the last bastion,

Response from SuzanneS6 made on 29th Nov 2022 01:25:44 > @oldwil
I find it amazing how everybody accepts a false image. You only need to look at photos of Prince Andrew compared to Lord Porchester to see he looks more like Lord Porchester than Philip. Andrew was born 10 years after the last child, and 10 years after Queen and Philip stopped sharing a bedroom. Andrew even has the green eyes of Porchester. Prince Edward also looks like his father Baron Plunket. He has a normal looking face, and not the inbred close together eyes of Charles and Anne.

Hi Old Wil. I am an Australian also & I can't agree with you more. That Charles would disregard his own mother's, Queen Elizabeth, wishes just shows that the respect has gone. She was loved by the people, I doubt Charles will know the same love & respect she had. I also think that Queen Elizabeth was the last bastion. I am not a Royalist, but everywhere we turn we are being presented with the goings on. It is awful to see the Royal Family being so mean to each other after Queen Elizabeth's death. She was the glue. It is so sad
