Does anyone else play the Ukulele?

Do any SS'ers play ukulele?  I play with my local ukulele band and with a U3A group.

I don't play - but my daughter is a keen ukeleleist and had a little group going here in Cardiff (Wales). When she moved to take up a teaching post in Alderney - one of the Channel Islands - she started a group there and it's really thriving now with about 15 members.

I play Ukulele as I posted last night - not realising there were others with the same hobby. I live in Somerset and I'm sure that if anyone comes on holiday hereabouts we can get our Ukulele group to host a visitor or two for the evening. The group consists of approx 28 players (one or two more wont matter) - we meet up in a pub on a Monday night. Mixed abilities, so dont worry.

I went along to a ukulele group, they have only been going for about 3 months, after 10 minutes I realised it wasn't for me, so never went back

I actually thought about it a few months back because of all the spare time I have in the winter months,(being stuck indoors). But I chose the guitar instead.
Silly me I started getting really bad neck pains (more than usual) doc sent me for x.rays. I just presumed it was all the bending over the guitar, having had neck problems since my 30's when I chipped the top 3 vertebra playing footy. Anyways I have now been dx with Spondylitis and I have put the guitar to one side for the time being. I did buy 2 ukulele for a couple of my grandkids last Christmas one as taken to it like a fish to water the other not so much. Perhaps I may get a swap. .lol
Hope you have good times with yours.
I am thinking now maybe a triangle might ..lololol
